WHAT IS CHURCH MEMBERSHIP?
Church Membership is more than consistent attendance. The church is the vehicle by which God accomplishes His purposes in the world. God invites followers of Jesus into his purpose for the world through involvement in the local church. Members covenant together to fulfill God’s purposes and hold one another to this high calling.
We hope that you make a covenant to be part of our church family.
JOINING LEE’S CHAPEL
The Church Congregation Welcomes New Members!
If you desire to unite with Lee’s Chapel, please contact the pastor at 910.892.7855, 252.955.4568 or pastor@leeschapelofwb.church
The church community receives members in one of the following ways:
Profession of Faith
We welcome into our membership all who are willing to do the following:
- You must be willing to acknowledge yourself to be a sinner. (Romans 3:23)
- You must believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Savior of sinners, and confess and depend upon Him alone for salvation. (Romans 10:9)
- You must set yourself apart as a believer for continuing growth through the Holy Spirit and endeavor to live as a disciple of Christ.
- You must promise to serve Christ in His Church by supporting and participating in its worship and work, contribute according to your ability, and share the meaning of Christ through personal living and witness.
Unite by Transfer
We will receive into our membership by church letter persons who are in good and regular standing from other denominations.
Unite by Reaffirmation
Those who cannot secure a letter of transfer (some denominations do not grant letters to Churches outside their own communion), or who have been inactive and wish to make a fresh beginning in the Christian life and rededicate themselves to God, are received on their own statement of faith in Christ.
Anyone interested in membership is encouraged to participate in the prospective members class “Membership Matters.” We want you to make an informed decision about joining Lee’s Chapel. By providing a class, we can cover what it means to be a Member and our beliefs, mission and core values.
Those seeking membership must (1) Be baptized (immersion) by an ordained minister following your confession of Christ as your personal Savior, (2) Must accept the Church Covenant, and (3) Must accept The Articles of Faith and Principles of Church Government for Original Free Will Baptist.
Candidates for membership are accepted by vote of the church membership during Sunday Worship Services. Please consider joining us!
